Mission, Vision & Values

Put out into deep water...

The Mission: Live the love

Jesus was asked, "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself."

Our aim at Voyage is to experience God's love ourselves and to share that love with others.

The Vision

The vision of Voyage Church is helping people take their next step with God. We are all on a journey; no one has "arrived" yet. With God as our strength, we seek to help each other. At Voyage we understand that there are people who have no faith in God, some who may have questions, some who may have just recently started their walk with Christ, and others who have believed for decades. We are all on a journey. What about you? What is your next step with God?

Core Values

Our core values shape the culture and priorities of Voyage Church. It is through these values that we strive to grow closer to God, grow closer to one another, and grow closer to people in our community and world.

Voyage Church strives to rely on God's Spirit in prayer, in God's Word, communication with God, and transformation in Christ. We believe that "the Holy Spirit will teach us all things." (John 14:26)

Authenticity means being real, being the same person in public and private, consistency, humility and honesty. We look to the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5) to teach us how to be authentic.

Unified Diversity

Voyage Church deeply values diversity. We strive to be a "house of prayer for all nations" consisting of people from all ages, ethnicities, socio-economic statuses, cultures, and spiritual gifts. (Isaiah 56:7, Matthew 21:13)

We believe in stepping across the aisle, meeting people where they are, radical acceptance, walking across the room, meeting needs, and belonging. Come find a home at Voyage Church. We strive to "accept one another just as Christ has accepted you." (Romans 15:7)

Voyage Church Statement on Racism and Racial Injustice

Voyage Church's core values combined with recent events in our world have led our Navigation Team and leadership to craft the following statement regarding racism and racial injustice in our world.

Silence on injustice enables injustice. Silence on sin enables sin. Voyage Church recognizes racism is one of the greatest injustices and one of the greatest sins of our time. We acknowledge the historic and present existence of racism in the very fabric of our society. As a community of followers of Jesus Christ we denounce any and all forms of hatred and bias based on racial difference. Voyage Church seeks to contribute to healing the deep wounds of racism through the vigorous practice of our core values of hospitality, authenticity, spirit dependence and unified diversity.

While Voyage Church’s core values support anti-racism, we are also driven by an even higher calling. Anti-racism is Biblical. One of the most significant directives Jesus ever gave was to go and make disciples of all nations. That great commission is clear in its focus on diversity and inclusion.

Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20
