Our Story

Our Beginning...

Voyage Church officially began on September 22, 2013 as a result of four area churches being led by God to focus their energy in Kalamazoo in fresh ways. As their leaders prayed and dreamed, God led them to come together to form this new church. Two of the churches - New Vintage Ministries and Fourth Reformed Church - concluded their ministries in order to channel all their energy and resources into this new church. Two other churches - Haven Reformed Church and The Bridge - served as "parents" to the new church, supporting it by supplying people, finances, coaching, and other resources.

Formal Installation...

On January 15, 2017, Voyage Church became an "organized congregation" within the Reformed Church in America (RCA). Reverend Wesley J. Tillett, our founding pastor, was installed as our congregation pastor on this date. This is also when our elected Navigation Team (3 Admirals[elders] and 4 Captains[deacons]) were installed. Our founding pastor, Rev. Wesley J. Tillett concluded his ministry at Voyage in May of 2020.
