Silence on injustice enables injustice. Silence on sin enables sin. Voyage Church recognizes racism is one of the greatest injustices and one of the greatest sins of our time. We acknowledge the historic and present existence of racism in the very fabric of our society. As a community of followers of Jesus Christ we denounce any and all forms of hatred and bias based on racial difference. Voyage Church seeks to contribute to healing the deep wounds of racism through the vigorous practice of our core values of hospitality, authenticity, Spirit dependence and unified diversity.
While Voyage Church’s core values support anti-racism, we are also driven by an even higher calling. Anti-racism is Biblical. One of the most significant directives Jesus ever gave was to go and make disciples of all nations. That great commission is clear in its focus on diversity and inclusion.
"Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20
